Satellites! Satellites make big money. But nobody tunes in to watch a satellite launch very much. Its people in space we want, and not just a few doing science either. We want hundreds of people dancing, playing sports and having fun. People are fascinated with people doing things, not machines clicking along regardless of how efficient they may be.

The famous first photo of the Earth as seen from the surface of the Moon marked the beginning of humanity as a space faring species. It also gave a unique perspective on our planet as a "fragile blue marble" floating in the vastness of outer space. Many credit this photo with increased awareness and motivation for a stronger environmental movement here on Earth. This one photo has had a tremendous impact on humanity over the last 47 years.
